Things we never thought we'd own...

A glider. Not a piece of furniture that we found particularly appealing until Jen had a chance to sit in one with Hugo the other night at our neighbor's place. We had never realized the value of silent and comfortable rocking--Hugo was out like a light. The following evening, I rushed out to get one for ourselves. It's not pretty..but for Jen and Hugo, right now, it's the center of the universe.

This, of course, is fine with Frida and Diego, it gives them a bit more space on the bed. The dogs have been adjusting well to the presence of Hugo. Although, whenever Hugo cries Frida gets all fussy and motherly, while Diego usually leaves the room or curls up and tries to ignore it. But when quiet, they both are curious of Hugo and take every opportunity to head into the bedroom and look/sniff into the crib. They're getting use to our new addition. When Hugo lies on the bed, the dogs like to creep up on Hugo and sniff his head.

Later today, Hugo will be venturing out for the first time since we left the hospital as we head to the doctor. Stay tuned. Meanwhile, Hugo has just nodded off to sleep so we are going to sleep as well. Good Night.

  1. The genetic code is a wondrous thing.
Consider how it's shaped little Hugo's head to perfectly fit beneath mighty Evan's chin!

  4. Evan - Rezak found you on Facebook and forwarded this link. Massive congrats and much love from all Sagers (my Mom often asks about you and I tell her I lost you in the e-netherworld)! My sister (Jennie) is living in NYC now herself - we are back often to visit and would LOVE to catch up! Our little guy is 2 now (Nicholas) and we're working on #2 (can you believe? me a Mom? YIKES!!). I'm so happy you got the little tax deduction in under the wire. PS - Our dog licked Nick incessantly. We kept telling ourselves it helped build immunity. PPS - I still have "Benevolent Scholars of Insignificant Nothing" hanging in my office. Particularly appropriate for lawyers. Love, Heth
